Live Like Horses.

I've had just enough time to...   live like horses, sometime.

The first thing I saw outside my window one early morning in Anyang, China is this lovely bronze horse.

Outside my window
Night has taken over
It is time to leave.
The uncompleted words
Are piled in a heap
For another tomorrow.
I locked the door
To an empty office
The last to leave.
The street light
Threw my long shadow
To the car waiting for my exit.

I sigh and I wonder
When can I live like horses -
Free.

Someday we'll live like horses
Free rein from your old iron fences
There's more ways than one to regain your senses
Break out the stalls and we'll live like horses

- Elton John & Luciano Pavarotti

  2. A 1000 Reasons
This was taken on my first morning in Anyang after waking up to a hangover from too much Chinese red wines in a hotel room that is bigger than a suite. Pulled back the curtain and was blinded by the glare of a hazy morning sun. There is not much to see. Except, wait - there below me a huge fountain which many bronze horses are galloping through. But this particular horse that turned its head and looked at me caught my gaze and seemed to say "aren't you joining us?" I can't but wait - one day I will. Live like horses, free...

You never cease to amaze me with how you match your stories/poems to your photos.

Yes ---I have horses ---they are free ---run with the wind and breathe the mounatin air.
Drink from the streams and look down the valleys below.
To be free like them --
Beautiful images and words to match.
