Part II - The Monkey Wearing Its Suit of Armour.

I've had just enough time to...   see the monkey wearing its suit of armour

Taken in the same temple in Kathmandu of the monkey wearing its chain of armour.

The Monkey wrapped itself in chain
Invisible
Only to itself

And the others wonder why
It so willingly
Wears its burden

But the monkey feels safe
In its chains
Of armor

That was how I found the monkey
In the temple
Still wearing its chains
A century after

In that same temple in Kathmandu, opposite that other monkey is an identical one but this one wears a long heavy chains round it. It is intriguing as to the difference between the two monkeys. Why is wearing chains and the other is not? So I'm left to my mystery as I'm alone in the temple by then. There are the fluttering of pigeons that feasted on trays of brightly coloured rice and mice seem to be a holy creature in this temple as well as they feed on the offering undisturbed. As I left the temple, I think that the monkeys will still be here a century after...

    Great image.
Chains must hold many meaning for that kind of Buddhism. The same would apply to other faith journeys, too.
I bet the monkey is figuring out how to get outside their limitations =:-]
    Thanks for your visit.

I like the ideas presented. Perhaps monkey wears chain so as to be not like the other monkey without chain.

There is some sort of religious mystique,in your composite.
Who holds the key to free the overburdened monkey and break the chains from every mind ???
But you said the monkey feels safe in its chains or so it should think ... To my mind's eye chains mean slavery and it awfully depresses me,unless we are talking about sacred commitments.Conflicting ideas my friend that cloud my thinking. Is it safer to be in chains than to be free ?
Or,is it easier to feel them than to break ... ?
Sorry my friend that my comment is a big question mark and many thanks for making me ponder.

Great shot from another perspective Thou (even if it is another monkey). Nice to be able to see this image and all its details.. Looking at the chains as well, this makes me think of the chains - that we are not always conscious of that hold us back from moving forward (for good or bad reasons). And because we have got so used to carrying them, we are not even aware of their presence. In this monkey's case, it looks like it has stopped him going any further then speculating on the fruit, which may or may not be good for him. Who can be sure?
Thanks for sharing with us these fascinating images and your wonderful reflections on them Thou. It would be interesting to know what they really represent. In the meantime, I wish you a happy week my friend : ))
