I've had just enough time to... see the crocodile behind the man
Taken while taking a walk back to my hotel in Kuching, Sarawak.
I saw
the man
But not
the crocodile behind
When I
did see it
It was
already too late
It had
its jaw on my leg
Before
it dragged me
Into its
murky depth
I wonder
How is
it
I saw
the man
But not
the monster
Behind
the man
A 1000 Reasons
ReplyDeleteI was taking a walk back to my hotel in Kuching when I saw this wooden sculpture adorning both sides of the building. It was interesting to note the crocodile straddling the man in this one. I don’t know the implication but the crocodile motif is a very common symbol for the natives of Sarawak as many rivers are infested with them. And as usual when I don’t know the answer, I made up my own. :)

Wonderful work Thou. Always beautiful, fascinating, intriguing and captivating. My guess is that it is some kind of symbolism of power. Instead of the crocodile hunting the man (ie dragging him into murky depths of his domain in the most ruthless fashion) the man has hunted the crocodile - dragging him around on his back in his domain in the most humiliating fashion he he he. I hope you like my guesses. Have a happy Sunday and week my friend : ))

Most evocative and intriguing wooden sculpture imposingly decorating the building's facades and cunningly setting the passers-by to pry into the artist's inspirational source.Interesting when we try to interpret the symbols in art and get the messages of the creator.I wouldn't disagree with the viewpoint that any leaving creature has a double nature where the good and evil co-exist and occasionally bring out either the saint or the sinner ... Have a non-scandalized Sunday dear Thou !!!
