I've had just enough time to... watch the flame dances.
Taken of the monk watching the flame of Life in the Temple of Shaolin
The monk stares at the flickering flame
Admiring its sensual dance of life
With the waltzing wind
As the pace picked up
The flame sparkles and frolics
Spin, sashay and gambol
Glitters, glistens and quivers
With rising passion
Consuming itself in its brilliance
And the monk wonders
Should he live Life as an untamed flame
Or an unlighted candle

A 1000 Reasons
On a cold Autumn morning, we drove to the temple of Kung Fu - the famous Shaolin Temple. On the way up the hill, we were amazed at the number of colleges which teaches Kung Fu as the main subject of education! Thousands of students!! They are mass producing Kung Fu figthers! We wandered through the hallowed ground of the temple looking at supposed feat of superhuman effort and endurance. But we were very disappointed at the Kung Fu show at the main in-door stadium. I've seen better in my own country. This is supposed be the Mecca of Kung Fu and they did it a big disservice by sending their best fighters overseas to earn hard currency. While those are home were the back-up team. Anyway, I made up my disappointment by some decent images that I like, like this of the monk looking at the flame. I'm not sure if I noticed the statue of the sleeping Buddha behind when I made that shot because I'm a fast shooter composing and shooting in just a few seconds. But I'm pleased it was there when I posted this shot.

Yasmin de light -
What a beautiful and captivating shot Thou. And I love the background of the resting Buddha - which seems like a very happy accident. Love your poem too - so wonderful in expressing, what we might imagine he is thinking. As for the unlit candle verses untamed flame - I believe this is the one million dollar question that many of those who dedicate themselves exclusively to any one way of life might have. I can imagine this monk will eventually find the right answers through his reflection and meditation. Really wonderful work my friend. I wish you a very happy day and week : ))
