I've has just enough time to... stop at red.
Taken at the traffic light of a wet bird (or two?) on the way to work.
There
comes a time we have to stop at red
But did
we notice the change of light?
Do we
accelerate at the danger sign
To
salvage time for time wasted
For a
little extra time we do not need
“Living
Life in the fast lane
Involves
breaking a few rules
They are
small prices to pay
For the
speed we need to make -
Through
the landscape”
“What is
the point of a journey
If not to
a destination?
No time
to smell the flowers
They are
still there tomorrow -
We have
to get there today”
“Haven’t
you heard time is money
It waits
for no man
And once
spent is gone forever
So what
we need to do is faster -
Before time
runs out”
“So we will not stop at red 1”
So says
the speed devil
Just
before
A red
light too many!
_______
At a red light in the sunshine
On a Sunday
Nothin' to say
Don't even try
Some are comin' home
Some are leavin' town
While my world's crashin' down
On a Sunday
In the sunshine
At a red light

Sometimes we are so busy with living and what we do, that we fail to notice the change of light. That it has changed from green to orange and is now red! We accelerate when we need to slow down. We are too focused on getting to the immediate destination forgetting about the whole journey. We have been overcome with speed. And speed kills! Literally, in more ways than one. I once read somewhere that when a person lost his ways, he tends to drive faster instead of taking stock of where he is and where he has gone wrong. Our instinct told us to speed up – as if it will get us there faster. Life is very much the same. Slow down, when you make a wrong turn. Slow down. That may not the way you want to be heading to.
By the way, how many wet birds can you see?

Great job spotting this bird, excellent catch!
as for the lights one by one here in our town they are installing traffic light cameras,

To Day Is A Full Blue Moon Day. But The Moon Is Not Full Or Blue,
Neil armstrong, who made the first giant step in moon is no more.
Therefore, moon took a step backward in her routine and failed to show her full face or blue face. In spite of raising a danger sign.,,,,
a team of moon enthusiasts commissioned a giant and colorfully illuminated wheel to fire the moon.

在我們生活中有許多驚奇的事物,
但是我們總是走的太快....步伐太快
生活節奏太快...
當你停下來時,你會發現...
原來路邊的小花綻放的這麼美麗!!

Fantastic capture Jimmy. Although, I am not the type who rushes around (preferring to stop and smell the flowers), I must say, I have never noticed the tiny dotted details in the red lights before, as is apparent in your photo. And yes I have noticed the wet birds at the top. Even they seem to know when to stop lol. I personally think the advancement of technology (in particular internet and mobiles) has played a big role in encouraging all this rush along with also creating a new type of normality. Everyone is used to instant results - especially with the aid of computers, internet and mobiles ( and fast food). So what used to seem like a normal pace will seem slow to many people.
Thank you my friend for your very thought provoking and enjoyable work - and also for your wonderful comments. I wish you a very happy and relaxing Sunday and week
ahead : ))

The birds know to stop at a red light (had to view large in lightbox to find the 2nd bird). I'm not anti-cycling, it's efficient, great exercise & kinder to the planet but its disturbing how many cyclists one sees going through red lights, at full speed yet, as if they believe the rules of the road don't apply to them ...and I'm talking about in urban traffic density, not on country roads. One cyclist here actually argued in court that he shouldn't have been given a ticket for cycling the wrong way on a one-way street, that it was petty discrimination against cyclists !!!! We all need to pay attention to the red lights of life ... physical & instinctive! The life you save may be your own.

ReplyDeleteWould you feel tha same feeling? When you are alone or you have not spoken to anyone the whole day, you will feel depressed. Even through there are no things annoying you or causing you troubles. But when you are staying with your friends, you have done nothing exciting, but just talk, watch a movie together or playing the game together, you feel so happy. That is what friendship means to us. No one would be happy when he leave their company, as the feeling of being alone is killing people. I would always spend some time with my friends even through I have to busy with my work everyday, no matter we are just talking on the MSN, or farming the wow gold together to buy awesome gears in the WOW, or just having a call, I will feel that I am needed by someone else and I am accompanied by them. These make me happy, and what about you? How do you think about making friends and staying alone?
