The road unfamiliar

The stars covered by clouds

The only light

From the smartphone

In Praise of Shadows.

I've had just enough time to...   sing the praise of shadows.

Taken in my favourite hotel in the historic city of Malacca, Malaysia

If you understand shadows

You will appreciate its silence

Its floating softness

Its fleeting forms

That tells a richer story

Than sharp edges

If you appreciates shadows

You will wait with patience

For it to reveal

The nature of its dances

That takes you dancing along

Through their illumination

The object is true

The shadow is not

If you believe that

You live a world only of light

And have no reason

To praise the nature of shadows

Blow the candle, leave the place

Go! Fulfill the wish that you made.

The Light At The End of The Tunnel

I've had just enough time to...   see the light at the end of the tunnel.

After a long time in the dark, I saw the light at the end of the tunnel (Ipoh, Malaysia)

I saw light at the end of the tunnel.

I saw white clouds and blue sky.

I have been in the dark for too long

And my eyes need to adjust to the light.

But I know where I’m heading to

And what I’m leaving behind

As I walked towards the light

At the end of the tunnel…

A Waltz On All Souls Night

I've had just enough time to...   waltz on All Souls Night.

Taken in a stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound.

Somewhere in a hidden memory
Images float before my eyes
Of fragrant nights of straw and of bonfires
And dancing till the next sunrise.

I can see lights in the distance

The only lights I saw were candles dancing

Through the veil of the dark night.

I cupped a candle to

Protect it from a wayward wind

It warmed my hands

And gave me light.

Remember The Dark When In The Spotlight.

The spotlight is not real and fickle.

The darkness around it, is.

So do not be blinded by the light,
