ReplyDeleteI hate the word "patriotism" these days, the way that it is being used by the politicians. Especially the corrupt ones who robbed the country blind and then accused you of being unpatriotic because you do not blindly wave the flag and threatened to soak your knife with the blood of all those who are "unpatriotic". And who are these "unpatriotic" people? They are anyone who do not subscribe to their war-mongering ideology. Today it is them. Tomorrow it may be you! When I am accused of being "unpatriotic", I take pride in that it means I am patriotic because I question what is good for my country instead of charging in with a knife ready to slaughter just because the one running the country wants to do the thinking for me.
