"The sharp knife of a short life

I've had just enough time..."

- "If I Die Young" The Band Perry

I see Beauty in many things. And like the ghosts that only speak to you if you notice them, they tell me wondrous tales. With my camera and my thoughts, I captured these as faithfully as I can to share with you. And by doing so, they gave me the reasons. And though the thousand reasons may not all be sweet and some indeed bitter; they are still reasons to live. Come to think about it, that is Life, isn't it?

Window Obscure

I've had just enough time to...   view a window obscure

Taken of an obscure window in the small town of Teluk Intan

To see the world from
A world within
Partly hidden
Window obscure

“I ain’t leaving this room”
Bright and sunny
Drizzling in rain
Window shuttered

Movements, interesting movements
Frightening
Safe
Part of the wall

I was wandering in the town of Teluk Intan in the state of Perak which is famous for its wooden equivalent of the leaning tower of Pisa. That is a story for another day. While shopping for “Heong Peng” or “fragrant biscuits”, I spied this obscure upstairs yellow window in the yellow wall of a shop lot. It caught my attention. Once when I was little, I looked out from a window very much similar to this one. From the outside, it looks dead and there is no activity within. But I know that Lives are lived and there is a whole lot of going-on behind obscure windows. They are misleading from outward appearance. And I still see a sad little face that peeked out from within…

The color and pattern are lovely ! The closed window gives a feeling of mystery and intrigue .....a certain aura . Yes...I think we always remember certain windows .....certain rooms ...certain images from our childhood....that trip vivid reactions of deja vu .
If you found those fragrant biscuits ...I am guessing your face was 100% happy :-) Have a great week :-)

Intriguing monotone minimalism, thou. Almost looks like it's not quite dry yet. And many layers beneath. Can see tips of blue. So many layers it can't help but peel off. Yes, shuttered windows hint at many stories ...closed to protect moments intimacy, to hide from the world, to shut out a sun too bright, to sleep perchance to dream. Evocative words to accompany this blaze of gold, thou. Well done!

Multiple layers of paint show these old shutters have served many so well.

wonderful image... both visually and in the mind
this poem does... and doesn't fit... but it is a possibility for one of the many days the window is shut:
    Rain
    Woke up this morning with
a terrific urge to lie in bed all day
and read. Fought against it for a minute.
Then looked out the window at the rain.
And gave over. Put myself entirely
in the keep of this rainy morning.
Would I live my life over again?
    Make the same unforgiveable mistakes?
Yes, given half a chance. Yes
