I've had just enough time... to look out the window into the world with a sad smile
The clown looking out the window into the world in historic city of Malacca
Looking
out the window
Into the
world
With empty
eyes and a smile
The
small kid runs, laugh
And
pointed
He likes
it best on hot afternoons
When
only stray dogs
Roam the
silent street
On
cloudless night when pebbles
Reflects
the moon’s silvery lights
On rainy
days when heaven’s tears
Spear
the lonesome Earth
Always with
the same smile
The same
empty eyes
Looking
out the window
Into the
world from behind bars
I was
wandering through the street of one of my favorite city. The historical city of
Malacca where there always new discoveries to be made. At a corner building of
the Ironsmith Street “Jalan Tukang Besi” away from the maddening crowd, I saw a
Chinese Clown in a T-shirt looking eerily out a window of the brightly painted
orange building. Its fathomless eyes unreadable and its sardonic smile
uninterpretable. What are its thoughts to be looking out the window every day?
I tried to imagine but it is not easy to be a clown with sad eyes and an uneasy
smile.
Not only dolls look at the world with empty eyes.(((
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI need your help. A month later, on November 19 will be a holiday , " National Foods of the World" in Vetka . My student should go on this holiday. All schools in our district distributed regions of the world , and our school has to tell the jury about the non-European national food.
Tell us about your national dishes and drinks , please. For example, how to cook your favorite dish and whether it can be prepared in Belarus? Of course, I can not find the material in Google . But more interesting to learn about the national food of the person who eats this food every day, is not it?
Finally, my student is 10 years old and she should talk about the national cuisine ( about the different dishes of one of the people) for 5 minutes. By heart.
I'm sorry I disturbed you, but I really need help .
Dear Migalayte,
DeleteNo worries :) I will try to find the time this weekend to get something done. Meant to do it tomorrow but an Australian couple dropped in unexpectedly and I wanted to show them round town and chat about the distant past :)
Oops, I found mistakes in my letter:
ReplyDelete1. I can find the information in Google, but ... (more everything is OK)
2. different national dishes of one of the country (for 5 minutes)

What are your thoughts if you are a clown looking out the window behind bars?

I'd likely have mixed emotions if I were the clown. Happy to contribute some joy to kids passing by, yet locked behind bars without the freedom to explore and experience the environment. I like the irony of your tag "sad smiles".

Ha ha, I seldom ever heed this type of command :) While I have admiration for this shop owner's creativity (he sells custom T-shirts), I don't quite share his generosity (or lack of). On one hand, he wanted to advertise his wares, on the other he doesn't want to share it generously even though his shop is at the corner building and there is no way anyone who wants to take a picture would not do so. I would have advise him to change the sign to "please come inside" and gain some goodwill and customer. I for one won't mind buying a T-shirt for the picture I took but the rebellious part of me would not patron the place. That is my nasty trait, sorry.
