"The sharp knife of a short life

I've had just enough time..."

- "If I Die Young" The Band Perry

I see Beauty in many things. And like the ghosts that only speak to you if you notice them, they tell me wondrous tales. With my camera and my thoughts, I captured these as faithfully as I can to share with you. And by doing so, they gave me the reasons. And though the thousand reasons may not all be sweet and some indeed bitter; they are still reasons to live. Come to think about it, that is Life, isn't it?

The Caterpillar or the Leaves

I've had just enough time...   to harvest a butterfly

The caterpillar hiding under a branch...

Two pots of ailing
Flowering plants
Nursed back to health.
New leaves from
Barren branches
Pleased me.
Shocked me
To see leaves of
One stripped bare.
The next day, the
Rest disappeared.
The culprit was found
Fat under a branch
Shyly hiding from
The sun, leaving me
To decide the fate of
The caterpillar
Or the leaves

My prosperity flowers whose leaves were devoured.
Can you see where the caterpillar is hiding?

I wanted the flowers
Of the plants nursed
To health, but strange
Are the fruits of the
Tree one sowed
I harvest a butterfly
Instead.

What would you choose?
The leaves or the caterpillar or...

The Silver Threads of Fate

I've had just enough time to...   feel the trembling of the string of fate

Taken in an industrial loom in Yangon, Myanmar

The silver threads of fate spins
In the loom of the blind sisters
Trembling under their fingers
And another hero falls
Blind eyes shed no tears
See no sorrow
Feel no fear

The quivering threads sing
Exciting the tender hearts
With its seductive rhyme
And another maiden falls
Blind eyes reveal no love
See no blushes
Feel no pain

The blind sisters chuckle
Picks another thread, breaks it
With a snap and attaches it again
But no silver thread
Can mend the
Severed string
Of a heart shattered

________

Darling, I am growing old,
Silver threads among the gold
Shine upon my brow today;
Life is fading fast away;
But, my darling, you will be, will be,
Always young and fair to me,
Yes, my darling, you will be,
Always young and fair to me.

Turning the Circle of Life

I've has just enough time to...   continue turning the Circle of Life

Taken while strolling through the small streets of Kuching, Sarawak

The years went round in a circle that never ends
The old man turns another wheel
Another of the many he had turned

He has seen many circles
And live in many of them
But the one big circle
He travels is now coming to an end

But until that circle is complete
There are still more wheels to turn
And he keeps turning them

_______

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to be seen than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done

In the circle of life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

Elton John - Circle of Life
