"The sharp knife of a short life

I've had just enough time..."

- "If I Die Young" The Band Perry

I see Beauty in many things. And like the ghosts that only speak to you if you notice them, they tell me wondrous tales. With my camera and my thoughts, I captured these as faithfully as I can to share with you. And by doing so, they gave me the reasons. And though the thousand reasons may not all be sweet and some indeed bitter; they are still reasons to live. Come to think about it, that is Life, isn't it?

Reflection Part I – Just Me

I've had just enough time to...   reflect on just me

Taken of the reflection found one early morning in the lake in Ampang Hill

There are two sides to me
Both sides are real
But which side is true?
Or can both sides be true as well

I sat on the water’s edge
And look at my reflection
Look at my reflection
For that is the only me I can see

But I know, I feel
Another me that I cannot see
It resides in me and argues
I feel therefore it is me

But the me who thinks
Spell in clear logical steps
Why without thoughts
Me cannot even exists

So I sat at the water’s edge
Gazing into my reflection
Gently coalescing all the me
Serenely, into just me

Part II – To Carve Out the Soul of An Elephant.

I've had just enough time to...   see how life was breathed into the elephants of wood.

Taken in a handicraft shop on the way to the River Kwai from Bangkok.

To carve an elephant
First, feel its might pulsating
Under your finger tips

Feel its gentleness
Feel its strength
Feel its tenderness
Towards its young

Feel its complexity
Feel its friendship
Feel its relationship
With its herd

Feel its rage
Feel its anxiety
Feel its freedom
In the wild

Dream what it dreams
See what it sees
Feel what it feels
Under its skin

Your hand will know when it is ready
When its spirit course through your vein
When tears well up in your eyes
As you touch the soul of the royal beast

Bang A Drum For My Country

I've had just enough time to...   bang a drum for my country.

Taken in a shopping complex in KL where the audience are mesmerized by the banging of drums.

My voice is stifled
But my heart bleeds
It bangs loudly
But the air is stilled
It carries nothing
Of how we feel…

So I bang on a drum!

I bang it loud to take my shout
I bang it soft to mourn our grief
I bang it slow to gather our pride
I bang it quick to hasten the pace
And the sound carries the roof
To the city below
And the citizens look up
And stamp their feet
And the uproar rose through the land
“Equality for all in our motherland!”

_______

I called upon my brother
Just the other day
He said, "John I'm gonna
Die if I don't start to live again"

I work each day and night like clockwork
Just tryin' to make ends meet
I could kick this bad world's ass
If I could just get on my feet

I'd bang a drum for the dyin'
Bang a drum for the truth
Bang a drum for the innocence
Lost in our youth

Bang a drum, bang it loudly
Or as soft as you need
Bang a drum for you brother
And a drum for me
