I've had just enough time to... see the meeting of the lady and the elephant
Taken of the meeting of the lady and the elephant on one rainy morning...
...when heaven shed its tears over the River Kwai.
One early morning
A lady crossed a bridge
Under a curtain of teary rain
Met a lonesome elephant
Looking for love at the other end
They stood facing each other in silence
While the heaven wailed and screamed
It asked for love but the lady has none to give
Not the type it needs
They stood facing each other
And three hearts were broken
On that rainy day
I was staying the night in a floating hotel along the bank of River Kwai, Thailand. A hotel where there is no electricity, TV or any of the modern distractions, just nature with a swift flowing river beneath. It had been raining the whole night and the next morning I woke to the fresh moist invigorating air. The heavy rain lends a kind of exotic atmosphere to the rustic setting enhancing the mood of a land far from civilization. I went to the back of my room looking out into the jungle to take in the sight of trees drenched by rain. That was when I caught this amazing sight. A lady in red sarong and a blue umbrella was crossing the pontoon bridge linking the floating hotel to the bank. Barring her way was a lonesome elephant. She froze in front of the elephant but it was too interested in her to let her pass. They stood there facing each other in pouring rain. It was one of the most memorable sight I’ve ever seen. Magical, even hard to believe it happened.
