Taken of the little green beetle that visit me in my office during office hours
Caught in the grind of every day
The day
drove by me
Without
picking me up
As it
raced along the bend
And left
me stranded behind
As I
struggled after
Another
day raced by
And
another and another and another…
The hours complained
“Why are you so slow
We cannot wait for you”
As the tick tock faded
Another hour asked
“Why are you still here?”
Then it too is gone
And I struggled along
On slippery slope
Down on all fours

A 1000 Reasons
Have you ever get the feeling that the hours are long but the days are racing by? Seems like a contradiction but that is how I felt these days. The hours can feel both long and short and by the end of each, I’m both physically exhausted, and mentally and emotionally drained. A night’s sleep and the ordeal repeated itself the next day. Why work this way then? It may be best described by Robert Frost’s “the woods are lovely, dark and deep but I’ve promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep. And miles to go before I sleep.” If it just about myself, I think I would not have the energy to continue. But if my action and decision affects the lives of many; then it is not so easy making a decision for just my own consideration. So I struggled along, crawling on all fours and when the burden gets a bit too heavy… I griped about it to you all, ha ha. Oh, this was taken in my office when this green insect wanders in one day and provides a temporary respite from drudgery of my routine.
