On the way up North to the Guang Ning province, we stopped by an Art center that employed workers handicapped by the devastating Vietnam war. There they produced all types of popular Vietnamese arts such as fine embroidery picture weaving, egg shell painting, lacquer arts. But among the most impressive are the marble sculpturing. There are hundreds of sculptures including larger than Life sizes that are bought by tourists from all over the world. The pictures of each buyer were tagged onto the statue. No photography is allowed but I'm a fast shooter but not above breaking a few rules if I don't think it harm anyone and benefited those I shared with. Or am I justifying my action? Mmm....

A very beautiful image Thou. I love the curves and flows in this image. Really gives life to the statue. I also like the way a lot of the surrounding objects also looks as though they are made of white marble - in particular that white box and how it is placed. Something quite magical about the whole scene. To me it creates the impression that all these objects and statue were once alive - and by some event they were all turned to marble/stone. - Great movie The Green Mile - one of my favourites : ))
