"The sharp knife of a short life

I've had just enough time..."

- "If I Die Young" The Band Perry

I see Beauty in many things. And like the ghosts that only speak to you if you notice them, they tell me wondrous tales. With my camera and my thoughts, I captured these as faithfully as I can to share with you. And by doing so, they gave me the reasons. And though the thousand reasons may not all be sweet and some indeed bitter; they are still reasons to live. Come to think about it, that is Life, isn't it?

In A Mosque in Beirut

I've had just enough time...   to speak about God

In a mosque in Beirut, a father speaks softly to his child...

In a mosque in Beirut
I saw a father softly
Speaking to his child
Sitting in the shadows as
Lights streamed through
The windows, I believe
As he believes, there is God
And in churches and temples
Everywhere, a man speaks
Softly to his child about

The God he knows

1000 Reasons - Got my new PC :))
In Beirut, I saw tanks and soldiers in uniform carrying arms. I saw bullet marked walls and bombing ruins. I saw hardships and sadness etched on faces. I also saw ancient churches built next to mosques. I saw friendly faces and kind smiles. I saw a father softly speaking to his child in his house of God. How did we go so wrong?

Beautiful house of worship and reflection...a somber and serene sanctuary away from the misguided ways of the world.
    Thoughtful words and wonderful image.

I guess if there was a God, he can't be happy. Is this his own doing? Will he give us a third chance, or this creation of his will be forever destroyed, by the creator?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and observations from Beirut. Love the silhouetted intergenerational interaction you captured here, so well placed within your frame. May the Light guide and bless their conversation … and may it bring hope and peace to the lives of all afflicted by war and violence.

Always nice for me to see a father speak gently and softly with a child - brings out the tender side of man, the more emotional side, but no less manly. So much beauty in this scene depicted. Despite war, violence, aggression etc - there is still love. Heart-warming. Love redeems. [ Glad you've got your new PC! ]

Congratulations on your new PC by the way. I hope you are finding it good and easy to use. Yes another very moving image and reflections from you my dear. You were certainly in the right place at the right time and have managed to capture this very special moment between a father and his child and which no doubt will have a profound influence on how he will grow up and how he will live his life. It's good to see that you found a place of peace and tranquility amongst all the devastation going on outside. Wishing you a happy week ahead my friend.

    Fantastic job…Have a great day!

    Bathsheba 1 - catching up...
Love both the shot and your words - a beautiful exploration of the human condition. The emphasis on how seemingly singular experience is echoed the world over seems to me exactly right. I think we are always far more similar than we are different, and the seeds of discord are sown whenever we forget this.

glad you caught this... it is beautiful...
I was in Istanbul right after the assassination of the leader... tanks and soldiers were everywhere...
yet, I found such beauty there... in the call to prayer ... with the stars sparkling above and the city lights reflected in the waters of the Golden Horn...strange, strange world
