I've had just enough time to...   welcome a Himalayan dawn

The valley sleeps

Under the watchful eyes of the snowy peaks

Under the cottony blankets of soft mists

Silence as peaceful as sleep

Harmony as beautiful as peace

I was up early to see the valley sleeps

Dwarfed by the majestic mountains

As ancient as the slowly departing stars

A speck in the universe of time

A slight stirring of the morning breeze

Shudders the slumbering Earth

Interrupting its peaceful sleep

With the patience and respect it commands

I was up early to welcome the soft glow

Of the approaching Himalayan dawn

I've had just enough time to...   ponder green.

The green of growth, vibrant

The green of decay, slimy

The green of spring, refreshing

The green around the gills, ailing

The green of apple, juicy

The green of jealousy, bitter

The green of nature, abundance

The green of inexperience, stumbling

The green of jade, virtuous

The green of money, corrupting

The green of balance, harmony

The green of light, go!

The green of love, Aphrodite

The green of bile, virulent

Apple, asparagus, chartreuse, fern

Forest, harlequin, honeydew and lime

Mantis, shamrock, olive, mint,
Pistachio, spring, teal and pine

The cloak Muhammad wore

The altar cloth of Catholics priests

The quetzal plumes on top Aztec chiefs

The beer drank on St. Patrick's Day

The singular colour of Libya’s flag

The virtue of China's jade

In the Rising Sun, eternal life is said to

Contain strings of green's thread

But,

What is green to you?

"Enjoy Your Life", You Said.

I've had just enough time to...   enjoy my life not yours.

Enjoy Life, you said.

Well, I tried.

And I find it bitter with no means to sweeten it.

Change my attitude, you said.

Well, I did.

But there was no harmony in my singing.

Hope for the better, you said.

Well, I hoped and prayed.

Even as each day gets darker than before the day.

So now, it is my fault you said.

I think I agreed.

You with your fancy car and positive attitude.

With no need to hope for your days are bright.

And your nights are peaceful.

Go ahead and enjoy your life,

But stop telling me to enjoy mine.

Art and Culture

Each Buddy Bear shows the individual design created by different artists on behalf of their native countries. The international artists’ different styles are joined together in one work of art, spreading zest for Life. The diverse design of the Buddy Bears – always typical for the respective countries – enables the visitor to experience a journey around the globe.

Aid for Children

Buddy Bears activities and aid for children in need have formed an inseparable unit. To date, around E1,800,000 (Aug 2011) have been raised through donations and auctions in aid of UNICEF and local children’s relief organizations.

I've had just enough time to...   hug a Buddy Bear.

147 Buddy Bears dropped into Kuala Lumpur from 08th December 2011 until the 15th February 2012 bringing a lot of colours and joy and their message of living in peace and harmony. Below is their messge -

The BUDDY BEARS’ MESSAGE:

“WE HAVE TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER BETTER……it makes us understand one another better, trust each other more, and live together more peacefully.”

Under this motor the UNITED BUDDY BEARS promote living together in peace and harmony on their global tour. About 140 Buddy Bears (each 2 m tall) represent as many countries recognized by the United Nations. Since the first exhibition in Berlin 2002, more than 25 million visitors world-wide have been able to admire the United Buddy Bears.

The Message

The Buddy Bears stand together “hand in hand”, symbolizing the future vision of a peaceful world. Each Bear stands for the people of different countries and their culture, yet not for political systems.

We Humbly Bow to Thee.

I've had just enough time to...  humbly bow to thee.

Tzu Chi volunteers humbly bow to thee.

On behalf of the poor and unfortunates, we bow to thee.

For all your care and compassion, we bow to thee.

For the fate of humanity, we bow to thee.
