"The sharp knife of a short life

I've had just enough time..."

- "If I Die Young" The Band Perry

I see Beauty in many things. And like the ghosts that only speak to you if you notice them, they tell me wondrous tales. With my camera and my thoughts, I captured these as faithfully as I can to share with you. And by doing so, they gave me the reasons. And though the thousand reasons may not all be sweet and some indeed bitter; they are still reasons to live. Come to think about it, that is Life, isn't it?

Discarded Gloves, Where is the Respect in That?

I've had just enough time to...   sympathize with discarded gloves.

Taken of this pair of discarded glove on a boat in the West lake, Hangzhou China.

Used, Discarded
Reused, Discarded again
Where is the respect in that?
Like discarded gloves
On the dirty floor, felt like
Discarded gloves on the floor

Kept your hands clean, we did
Kept them warm in the cold
Protect your hands, we did
Protect them from the blows
Take the blows ourselves, we did
And we take on the woes

Now, we are worn
Lost our shine and colours from the weather
Dirty and soiled, disheveled and battered
And those hands we protect
Just threw us on the floor
Just threw us on the floor
Discarded gloves, where is the respect in that?

_______

I'd like to tell a little story
Thats been told time and time again
About the foolish men who chased me
My discarded men

They used to tell me they loved me
But I knew better than them
I'd find them looking around the corner
My discarded men

  2. A 1000 Reasons
I was in a boat in the lovely West Lake, Hangzhou, China when I spied this pair of discarded gloves on board. One side stained bright orange from the rowing the oars but now discarded on the deck. I shot it because there are images that I just now I will find the stories to. Sometimes the stories come immediately. Other times, they come after I have another look at them. But I generally only really enjoy shooting things that I saw a story in. That makes me kind of strange photographer, doesn't it? :))

Such wonderful and thought provoking poetry to go with this nicely timed and captured image. I like your ability to see things from unusual perspective - which in this case is with the gloves. This is a wonderful display of your gift of sensitivity and creativity. Wishing you a lovely day my friend : ))
