"The sharp knife of a short life

I've had just enough time..."

- "If I Die Young" The Band Perry

I see Beauty in many things. And like the ghosts that only speak to you if you notice them, they tell me wondrous tales. With my camera and my thoughts, I captured these as faithfully as I can to share with you. And by doing so, they gave me the reasons. And though the thousand reasons may not all be sweet and some indeed bitter; they are still reasons to live. Come to think about it, that is Life, isn't it?

Did You Notice The Flowers Or the Crack In The Wall? – Part II

I've had just enough time to...   differentiate between the flowers and the crack

Taken in the same place in Malacca as the last post, all inside a building :)

 Are you more concerned –
About the further widening of the crack
Or the imminent fading of the flowers?

Will you –
Patch up the crack
To enjoy the flowers?

Or will you –
Enjoy the flowers
And not worry about the crack?

Maybe, you did not notice –
Either the flowers or the crack?

Maybe, you are –
The crack or the flowers?

Continuing the series of the flowers and the crack I found in the inner courtyard of my favorite hotel in Malacca. It is a little boutique hotel with the right balance of history, low cost, cleanliness, comfort, service, atmosphere, location and even swallows nests in which swallows came back to roost at night. And even making love in plain sight :) It had everything you would want in a hotel but I'm not disclosing to all and sundry. If you're my flickr friend, you have privilege so just send me a private message :)

You can have breakfast under all these flowers, that is nice isn't it. And you can get a room for between USD50 to USD100 (depending on the room). A fantastic deal in my opinion. And what's more, there is plenty of photographic opportunities in the hotel itself. Made me wanting to go back there for another relaxing holiday :)
Flowers and crack, what are you? :)

    what crack?

Oola, sometimes the crack that is not visible is the most dangerous crack of all.

Thou San... usually i am polite and ignore the visible crack... and look for the flowers hidden on the other side of the wall...it has paid off ... the hidden flowers are even more exquisite than those that are seen by most... and their fragrance intoxicating at times...
Leonard Cohen says that the crack is where the light gets in...
but you are right... the hidden one is the most dangerous... even scarry

i could not resisit doing this in response to your recent work on the hidden cracks
for the one below, you need the poem

    The Present
The present that you gave me months ago
is still unopened by our bed,
sealed in its rich blue paper and bright bow.
I've even left the card unread
and kept the ribbon knotted tight.
Why needlessly unfold and bring to light
    the elegant contrivances that hide
the costly secret waiting still inside?

I think that flowers that fade with beauty and grace are much to be admired ! And I think sometimes cracks in a wall, or other signs of aging, can sometimes add a pleasing accent of texture and character . The same can be said for certain humans .....their gray hair and wrinkles adding a sense of dignity and wisdom to their appearace . Thanks for sharing this fine image :-) .

Depends how critical the crack is to the whole of the structure of the architecture. If it is then this would be the priority. The fading of the flower is a natural process with not as detrimental outcomes. More often then not they will bloom again. These are stunning flowers by the way. Love the orange tones and the delicate petals. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful visions and thoughts with us my friend : ))
