"The sharp knife of a short life

I've had just enough time..."

- "If I Die Young" The Band Perry

I see Beauty in many things. And like the ghosts that only speak to you if you notice them, they tell me wondrous tales. With my camera and my thoughts, I captured these as faithfully as I can to share with you. And by doing so, they gave me the reasons. And though the thousand reasons may not all be sweet and some indeed bitter; they are still reasons to live. Come to think about it, that is Life, isn't it?

Walking Alone On Lovers' Bridge

I've had just enough time to...   look at Lover's Bridge

Taken of the Lover's Bridge in Tanjung Sepat, Selangor, Malaysia

I remember the rickety old “Lovers' Bridge”
Where the waves slapped against the slanted legs
Letting out mournful sighs that I thought, was sweet
I brushed down my hair ruffled by the unruly winds
And enjoyed their vehemence for I thought, that was sweet
I smiled at the gray clouds for blocking out the intense sun
And was thankful the approaching storm was still far away
In your eyes, I saw no doubt only affection
And was happy that day, on Lovers' Bridge

Today, I walk alone, on Lovers' Bridge
The waves are mournful
The wind cruel
I am only grateful to the clouds
Kind enough for holding back the rains
And add to my misery

On a cloudy day, I went to the coastal town of Tanjung Sepat famous for its seafood. There is an old bridge that extended far out into the sea that local fishermen will tie the boats when they moored them. They called it the Lovers’ bridge. There seemed to be a lovers’ bridge in every fishing village in the country. Why they called it that, I’ve no idea other than it sounds more romantic that the fishermen’s bridge. I was at the mouth of a small river at a short distance away from this particular bridge when I spied this couple on the Lovers’ Bridge…

I looked for stories rather than images when I shoot. It makes me happy when I find a story in the image I am about to shoot. In this instance, the story is pretty obvious. Though the actual happening may not be what I wrote, it does not matter as long as there is a story to tell. Any story as long as it is interesting. This is the philosophy of my photography. Please see the last photo of this sequential photo series for the emphatic end to this story. Hope you enjoyed it.
